What if Rahu is in 8th house for a Taurus Rising person? (Vedic Astrology)

Home : Vedic Astrology: Rahu in 8th house: You are here

Vedic Astrology Birth Chart
The sign of Sagittarius falls on the 8th house for a Taurus Ascendant person. If Rahu is placed in the sign of Sagittarius in the 8th house it also has his aspects on the 12th house and 4th house. All the three houses 4th, 8th, and 12th are ruled by water signs (Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces) in the natural zodiac and so these houses are not practical houses (like 2nd, 6th and 10th) where you work mostly for money. 8th, 12th, and 4th house are more about the hidden secrets of life or the esoteric world and things buried underground.

Since Sagittarius is a fire sign (like Aries and Leo) it is a sign of knowledge, education, law and religion but since Rahu here is concerned with 8th house, 4th house and 12th house the native will be obsessed about acquiring knowledge and education of the esoteric world such as the occult science which includes astrology, numerology, palmistry, magic, Vaastu, etc.

If Rahu was in the sign of Sagittarius in some practical house such as the 6th, 10th or 2nd house then the native would have been into acquiring knowledge related to practical things such as the knowledge of machines (Saturn-Capricorn), finances (Taurus-Venus), debt and nutrition (Virgo-Mercury), etc. But here it is not so in the 8th house.

The person like Osho Rajneesh (Taurus Ascendant) could be a good example who has his so many planets in the sign of Sagittarius in the 8th house but his Rahu is located in the sign of Pisces in the 11th house. But then from the 11th house, Rahu is having an aspect to the 8th house. Osho Rajneesh was a Mystic but he died of AIDS as his religious and spiritual practices were against the principles of God or nature.

So Rahu could even make the native a mystic when placed in the sign of Sagittarius in the 8th house as 8th house is a mysterious house. Such people cannot go along with their family as you forget your family or don't have a family life when you go deep into the dark secrets of the 8th house. But the thing is this is not always so. It also depends on the Nakshatra where your Rahu is placed in the 8th house.

For example, if your Rahu is placed in the sign of Sagittarius in the Purvashada Nakshatra and if Jupiter is placed in the Sravana Nakshatra in the 9th house and Saturn, Mercury and Venus are placed in the 2nd house then you could also be into food, coal, oil or petroleum business. This is because coal, oil, crops, etc are found beneath the earth and so also represented by the 8th house. So the 8th house is not always about the esoteric world. It is also about hidden things buried underground. You could also be into mining and minerals with this placement of Rahu.

Vedic Astrology is all about Nakshatras. Mula, Uttara Ashadha and Purva Ashadha are the three main Nakshatras falling on the sign of Sagittarius and it is the Mula Nakshatra which can make you a Mystic. My own Rahu is in Mula Nakshatra but still, I am not a Mystic. Why? This is because my Rahu is in 5th house (a fire house and not water house) in the Mula Nakshatra and not the 8th house. So I am only distributing information on Astrology (an 8th house thing) but not actually practicing it.

But the main motive of Rahu to gain all the hidden knowledge of the 8th house whether philosophy, religion or Vedas is to earn wealth by utilizing that knowledge in some way. This is because Rahu is materialistic in nature.

Considering Rahu in the 8th house (for Taurus rising) if Jupiter is placed in the sign of Pisces in the 11th house it could make you a very intelligent person having good knowledge about something related to the 8th house such as occult science or things buried underground such as coal, oil, petroleum, etc.(depending on the Nakshatra where your Rahu is placed). This is because Jupiter in the sign of Pisces makes you a very intelligent person with a lot of wisdom and knowledge. With this placement, you can even acquire an important post in some company engaged in the mining or distribution of coal, iron, steel, petroleum, etc. This is because the 11th house represents large organizations.

You may also be into gambling, investing or trading of gold, silver, coal, oil, minerals, etc with this placement of Jupiter. But surely you will gain a lot from this placement as Jupiter is seated in its own sign of Pisces in the 11th house. If Jupiter is placed in the sign of Aquarius in the 10th house you may be a distributor of the same things as mentioned above .

Again considering Rahu in the 8th house if Jupiter is placed in the sign of Taurus in the first house it could make you a financial adviser to invest in gold, silver, and other commodities as mentioned above as all the commodities are the representation of the 8th house. You may also be a public speaker or a teacher of finance with this placement of Jupiter.

You may go into biology and biomedical research if Jupiter is placed in the 5th house of education as Jupiter represents nature, animals, forests, etc which are part of biology.
