If you are looking to listen to this shloka (in audio or video) this can be easily done by watching any of the episodes of old Mahabharat 1988 TV series on youtube.com. Just at the start of every episode, this shloka of Bhagwat Gita is sung. You can watch this youtube video to listen. I have copied the video exactly at the time where the singing of this Shloka starts so that you don't have to listen to the complete song before the beginning of the episode.
This shloka was said by Shri Krishna (an incarnation of Lord Vishnu) in Dvapara Yuga to Arjuna (one of the Pandavas) just before the start of the war between the Kauravas and the Pandavas. This was just one of the shlokas in the whole message (later compiled as Bhagwat Gita) that Lord Krishna gave to Arjuna before the start of the war.
Meaning of this Shloka
In this shloka, Lord Krishna says that whenever there is a neglection or disregarded of Dharma I incarnate myself on the earth to establish Dharma again by killing the evils and saving the people who are righteous and following the path of Dharma. To understand "Dharma" better you should read this article > what Dharma is and why someone needs to follow it.
In a true sense, God doesn't exist in a physical form like a human body as God is eternal (soul). God takes the form of a body and appears on this earth as a human being (but of course through a mother's womb) only when God is incarnated and that is what the meaning of incarnation is. But God is watching every one of us and our Karmas (deeds) even in the eternal form. Lord Vishnu is usually considered as the original God in its eternal form and he is the one who incarnates whenever there is a need to establish Dharma on this earth due to the rise of the evil.
It was Lord Vishnu only who incarnated as Lord Krishna in the Dvapara Yuga and said the shloka as mentioned above (Yada Yada Hi Dharma). In the Dvapara Yuga, it was Lord Krishna only who initiated the war of Mahabharata (between the Pandavas and the Kauravas) to establish Dharma as the Kauravas were evils and didn't want to follow the path of Dharma.
But before the incarnation as Lord Krishna Lord Vishnu incarnated as Lord Rama in the Treta Yuga. Treta Yuga was the time before the Dvapara Yuga. At that time he killed a demon called Ravana who was evil and against the path of Dharma. Ravana kidnapped the wife of Lord Rama which is something considered as Adharma (not being righteous).
There are a total of 10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu out of which 9 have already incarnated and gone from the earth while the 10th and final incarnation has still to come. Currently we are into Kali Yuga and still, Lord Vishnu has to incarnate in this Yuga when the sins will reach to its peak. God has already said in the shloka above (Yada Yada Hi Dharma) that he will incarnate whenever there is disregarded or abolition of Dharma.
Lord Parwati or Adi Parashakti or Adi Shakti is the wife of Lord Shiva and she is said to be the creator of this Universe. She was the last known incarnation on this earth as a saint in the name > Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi. But she died recently only in 2011. But she was an incarnation to spread Sahaja Yoga (a way to meditate) and transform human beings through the awakening of their kundalini power located in the dormant state in each and every human being. Her incarnation was not to destroy the evils like Lord Vishnu's Avatar. The meaning of Avatar is also incarnation. But kundalini power is a spiritual energy that heals you and gives you good health and you can also attain moksha (liberation) when finally your kundalini is submerged in the ultimate cosmic energy of the universe or so-called soul.
Before the Avatara of Adi Shakti (Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi), the last known Avatar was of Shree Sai Baba of Shirdi whose time period was from 1838 to 1918. But he was the Avatar of eternal Adi Guru Dattatreya. Till now there have been 10 incarnations of Adi Guru Dattatreya and those were Raja Janak, Shri Abraham, Shri Zarathustra, Shri Moses, Shri Lao-Tsu, Shri Confucius, Shri Socrates, Shri Mohammad, Shri Guru Nanak and most recent Shri Sai Baba of Shirdi.
It is wrong to make anyone as your Guru (for spiritual growth) if it is not an incarnation because they don't deserve to be a Guru and many false gurus even give you dead spirits in your body (like Asaram Bapu) and as a result of it you get possessed by these dead spirits. You should know how false gurus possess you. These are all false gurus whose only motive is to make money. If a Guru is charging money then he cannot be an incarnation.
For example, Shirdi Ke Sai Baba was a Fakeer and he never charged anything. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi was an incarnation and she never charged anything. Just go to the Sahaja Yoga website and it is clearly written "you cannot pay for the experience of divine love" and Sahaja Yoga is completely free of cost and even you can get your self-realization online (kundalini power awakening). Also, taking names of incarnations or the mantras given by them never harms you but the mantras given by false gurus can harm you and can give many diseases as the false gurus are not authorized to give mantras. They give mantras only to possess you.
The incarnations of Adi Guru Dattatreya were only for spiritual progress. It is only the incarnations of Lord Vishnu which is meant to destroy the evils and establish Dharma. So war is more likely only when the Kalki Avatar will appear on the earth and no one is sure when it will be. But it is said the Kalki Avatar will use a white horse. So that is what the meaning of that Shloka is (Yada Yada Hi Dharma) > the eternal God will incarnate and destroy all the evils once the injustice will reach its highest level on the earth. False Gurus are mainly the evils in the Kalayuga.
