Mercury in 9th house in Cancer Sign: The Marine Career? Scorpio Ascendant (Vedic Astrology)

For a Scorpio ascendant, Mercury rules the 8th house and the 11th house and will fall in the sign of Cancer when placed in the 9th house. There are several possibilities with this placement and here are some of them.

1) Mercury is a planet that represents our hands & shoulders and Cancer is a sign that represents the water and 9th house is the house of exploration and so during the Mercury period you may do a lot of boating in the river or sea and boating is nothing but exploration as when you do the boating you explore the water or the sea. 2) People like swimmers may also have this placement as swimmers also work with their hands in the water while swimming. People competing in sports swimming may also have this placement. If Jupiter is also placed in the 9th house along with Mercury in the sign of Cancer, then you may even become a swimming coach as Jupiter is someone who guides. 5) Mercury in Cancer in the 9th house is also good to become a naval architect especially if the 9th lord Moon is placed in the sign of Capricorn in the 3rd house. A naval architect is an engineer who is responsible for the designing, construction and repairing of boats, ships, and other marine vehicles. They may also work with merchant ships with the oil and gas tankers. Oil is also a liquid represented by the sign of Cancer. The sign of Capricorn is a sign of automation or machines and engineers make machines only. Ships and submarines are just the moving machines in the water.

6) People like hydrologists may also have this placement as they also work a lot with water. They study how water moves across and through the earth’s crust. A lifeguard can also be seen from this placement.

Swati Nakshatra is quite known for foreign travels. People working in the field of information technology (IT) may have this placement. People selling online and doing export-import business may also have this placement.

12) If Mercury is placed in the sign of Cancer in the 9th house but if the 9th lord Moon is placed in the sign of Leo in the 10th house, then people who publish games, cartoon films, videos, etc over the internet can be seen from this placement. People who are publishing content on websites related to brand management and marketing may also have this placement. This is the because 9th house is the house of publishing and Leo is a sign of name & fame (promotion) and it is also a sign of brands.

Here the 9th lord is placed in the 10th house and so this is also a good placement for getting work from a foreign country or working for a multi-national company. People who are publishing videos and films on the digital platform are most commonly seen from this placement. But this career will happen when Mercury dasa and anterdasa will be running. The 10th house is a digital house or it is the house of automation. Many people make videos related to games and acting and they publish on platforms like youtube and they may also have this placement.

13) If Mercury is placed in the sign of Cancer in the 9th house but if the 9th lord Moon is placed in the sign of Virgo in the 11th house then this placement could give you a writing and publishing job in some health care organization as 11th house represents large organizations and Virgo is a sign of health care. But 11th house is also the world of the internet as the internet is a huge network as 11th house is also the house of networking and so you may also write and publish content over the internet on websites, apps, and software (information technology).
