Do you know dasa in Astrology itself tells you what to do in life? (Vedic Astrology)

If you don't know > dasas are planetary time periods each person on this earth goes through. You can make use of a free astrology software to know about the dasas you are currently running. I am assuming here you already know about the basics of Vedic Astrology and you know about the dasas and houses as well. If you don't know the basics read here > about planetary time periods or dasas.

Suppose you are running the dasa of 4th house then 4th house is the house of rest as the 10th house which is just the opposite house to the 4th house is the house of work. Opposite houses always have totally opposite nature or energies. Now what the dasa of 4th house lord is telling you > you should take rest (as 4th house is rest) and now if you work hard during this dasa then you will suffer. Through planetary dasas the universe is telling you what you should be doing during that dasa. People often lose their job in the dasa of the 4th house as 4th house means > take rest.

But there are exceptions too when actually some planet is sitting in the 4th house and you are running the period of 4th house. Suppose Saturn is placed in the 4th house in your birth chart then Saturn will not let you take rest even when you are running the period or dasa of the 4th house. This shows that you did some bad karma (deeds) in the past life and because of which you are not able to take rest even in the dasa of 4th house. Your peace will be disturbed in the period of 4th house.

But 4th house is not just the house of rest and peace but it is also the house of nurturing. By nurturing here it means expressing your emotions and feelings through communication as the 4th house is originally ruled by Moon in the natural zodiac. Moon is a soft and emotional planet and so the 4th house and Moon both represent emotions, feelings, comforts, and conveniences of life (sukh-suvidhaye).

Suppose you are teaching someone or giving only knowledge and information to the customers in a retail or wholesale business then here the work basically is to give advice but this is not considered a physical work which is represented by the 10th house. So you should give knowledge or information to other people in the dasa of the 4th house and should not do any physical work. You will suffer if you will do any physical work in the dasa of 4th house as the universe is telling you to do some soft work by running the dasa of the 4th house.

But you can expect to attain a lot of conveniences of life such as a vehicle, home, home appliances, etc during the dasha of 4th house sign or the 4th house lord or the dasa of the planet sitting in the 4th house. But things may be different if a planet like Saturn is placed in the 4th house as then Saturn will restrict the conveniences of life as Saturn is a planet of restriction.

However, benefic planets like Venus, Moon, Mars, Mercury, and Jupiter (if placed in the 4th house) will give great results in the 4th house dasa. Mars in the 4th house may give property and land (but it will not be good for good health) as Mars is the significator of property and land. However, if Mars is debilitated then you may be restricted with property, land or home in your life. Mars can, however, make you a cook in the 4th house as the 4th house is the house of nurturing. But Mars in the 4th house is not good when it comes to the relationship with the mother.

Venus, if placed in the 4th house, can certainly give you a vehicle during its dasa or the dasa of the 4th house lord as Venus is the significator of vehicles, food, fashion accessories, and other luxuries of life. Venus, when placed in the 4th house, can make you a rich person unless the 4th house or Venus is afflicted badly in the birth chart or the Navamsa chart.

Moon, when placed in the 4th house, can certainly give you a lot of peace of mind during the dasa of Moon or the 4th house lord unless Moon is afflicted badly in the birth chart. If there is no affliction then Moon in the 4th house will give you a great sleep at night (also good food) and it is also good for a teaching or nursing career as Moon is a planet of showing your emotions and feelings and you can show your emotions and feelings in different ways. Acting in a movie is also a way to express your emotions and feelings through communication. Moon represents the mother and so the relationship with the mother will be extremely good and you will be deeply attached to your mother when Moon is placed in the 4th house.

If there are no planets placed in the 4th house but if some planet is aspecting the 4th house and if the dasa of that planet is running then it may also give results of the 4th house according to which particular planet is aspecting the 4th house. For example, if Mars is placed in the 10th house then it will aspect the 4th house (through its 7th aspect) and so during the dasa of Mars, you could buy a home, land or property as Mars is the significator of land and property and it is also aspecting the 4th house of conveniences of life. Similarly, if Venus is aspecting the 4th house then it can give you a vehicle. Moon aspecting the 4th house will give you mental peace, good sleep and teaching, nursing, or a housewife career.

Mercury in the 4th house or aspecting the 4th house could give you a writing career or you may also do business (such as clothing, food and home appliances business) as Mercury is a trader and if Sun is also placed along with Mercury in the 4th house then a business career is certainly possible as people involved in businesses such clothing, furniture, home appliances, vehicle driving, etc provide conveniences of life which are represented by the 4th house. But Sun in the 4th house will disturb the sleep as Sun is a hot planet and the 4th house is the house of rest and peace.

On the other hand, if you are running the dasa of the 10th house or 10th lord or any planet sitting in the 10th house then it is going to make you work a lot as the 10th house is the house of work. Like the 4th house, it is not the house of giving knowledge and information (by expressing your emotions and feelings) but it is the house where you do actual physical work. But if the sign of Cancer is falling on the 10th house then the work again could be related to the 4th house as the sign of Cancer represents the 4th house. So this is an exception and you need to take care of it.

If Saturn is placed in the 10th house and if you are running the dasa of 4th house or 4th lord or Saturn then this is the time you will be working extremely hard. To give you an example, Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh, the great Indian cricket players, are having their Saturn placed in the 10th house and they are working hard on the ground while playing cricket. Similarly, many people in different industries are working on machines in factories and such people may also have their Saturn placed in the 10th house.

It depends a lot on the sign ruling the 10th house to exactly know what could be the nature of the hard work. If Saturn is placed in the sign of Taurus in the 10th house then the native could work hard in making websites or digital drawing or graphic designing as the sign of Taurus represents all these things. If Mars is placed in the 10th house then engineers, IT professionals and sportsmen are most commonly seen but again a lot will depend on the sign ruling the 10th house. If Moon is placed in the 10th house then people working hard in the food, clothing, and health care industries are most commonly seen.

If Venus is placed in the 10th house then work related to finances, food, and creativity are most commonly seen. If Mercury is placed in the 10th house then communication engineering, marketing, and advertising related work is possible as Mercury represents all these things. 10th house is basically the house of automation as originally this house is ruled by Saturn and Saturn represents machines that automate the tasks.

Even a software automates a certain task and so people working in the software industry are also seen from the 10th house if planets like Venus and Mars are placed in the 10th house as Venus represents software and a website. If the sign of Capricorn falls on the 10th house and if Saturn is also placed in the 10th house then the native might do some labor work such as working of operating machines in some manufacturing unit.

Now suppose you are running the dasha of 2nd house lord or the dasa of a planet which is placed in the 2nd house then this is the dasha to enjoy life as 2nd house is not of work and also not of giving knowledge and information but it is the house of sensual pleasures and family assets. But Saturn is placed in the 2nd house then you will need to work (related to finance, food or family assets business) as Saturn will restrict your enjoyment because of its restrictive nature.

But Jupiter in 2nd house will not also be good to enjoy the pleasures of the 2nd house as Jupiter will bring wisdom in the 2nd house which means things like getting the knowledge or higher education related to food and finances which the 2nd house represents. Moon, Mercury, and Venus are the only planets that can bring enjoyment in the 2nd house such as music, dance, singing, eating, sex, traveling, shopping, etc. Mars in the 2nd house could give a lot of fights within the family as the 2nd house also represents the family. Rahu in the 2nd house may get you obsessed about eating or money and so the native may do cheating related to money as Rahu is a manipulative planet.
